How to Write a Blog Post

How to Write a blog??

Writing a blog is one of the most important tasks for any blogger. It’s hard to imagine your life without blogging. All over the world, millions of bloggers publish daily news and articles that make their readers happier, more satisfied and healthier by helping them get things done faster than ever before. As a result, the blogosphere has grown rapidly in recent years. Some see it as an essential step in career success. Others see it simply as a hobby or just an additional side project. Whatever the reason, there is no doubt about the impact blogging has on us all.

The benefits of writing a blog are numerous. They include boosting audience engagement, improving search engine optimization and generating loyal fans. There are also marketing opportunities such as brand recognition for businesses and increasing sales. In this guide we will look at the basics of what a blog post should consist of and provide some tips to help you start writing today.

How do bloggers write blog posts?

1. Choose a topic

Writing an interesting blog post means choosing a topic which will interest your reader base. When it comes down to it, there are several ways by which people decide what they will read. You can choose from popular topics with large audiences, trending ones with higher levels of traffic, or niche-specific topics with smaller following. Although these choices differ depending on personal preferences and interests, there are universal characteristics around all blog writing. The biggest point to keep in mind is that you need to focus on something that interests you and makes sense for you, not because someone is telling you so. That said, remember not to go overboard with the number of words you spend writing a single post.

2. Outline

This one might seem obvious but bear with me. Your first few lines of text should be brief enough for the reader to understand what you are talking about. This could mean answering all or part of a question, providing answers to common questions or giving background information. The key here is to create a cohesive narrative as you move into the body of the article. Remember the main points of each paragraph.

3. Craft a compelling opening sentence

The first sentence of your post is the hook to draw the reader in. It needs to catch the attention of those who might be interested but don’t know where to begin. Don’t write a new post about whatever happened recently; instead focus on something bigger like global issues or current events. For example, if you were interviewing John F Kennedy, you would have written “John was assassinated on Nov 22, 1963. More than 700 people died on that day. One year later, the United States government launched a program to help its citizens living through trauma after receiving thousands of death threats during his time as President. This led to many social service programs, including Children’s Aid that provided food and medical supplies to children during difficult times and Safe House Housing which helped homeless families with shelter costs. Today I am sharing more information about how he worked tirelessly to achieve peace in our country.”

4. Introduce a problem, solution or conflict

The next piece of content should be about solving a particular issue or problem. If you think about it, every blog post should provide support for a specific action. While this does not require much explanation, it may involve a little bit here and there — a link to something relevant in other articles, references to related material or advice for using X tool. Just be careful not to jump too far into deep into your topic or you risk creating a passive readership. Instead introduce a specific problem or challenge and then offer practical solutions, ideas and suggestions on how to tackle it. Give examples, real experiences or situations but try to avoid making use of complicated jargon. Use research or case studies to illustrate your claims. Show how things work rather than telling.

5. Explain how your post will improve lives

The final section of your blog could be long, detailed descriptions of your experience and knowledge based on previous post ideas and feedback. Make sure to refer back when needed. Sometimes, just adding links to previous article pieces can help you give your own voice to your readership.

6. Summarise in bullet points

When summarising your new post, make sure you answer a couple of basic questions. Who will read this post? Why did you feel compelled to write this post? What do you hope to communicate? And finally, why now? These points need to be answered clearly within each paragraph of your summary. Be clear and concise when explaining what you would like the reader to take away from reading this article. Again be clear about exactly what you want them to take away from reading each paragraph and leave any extra context to the reader’s imagination. Do not forget to mention that each bullet point should answer two of these questions.

7. Include images

At least 20% of your website visitors will exit your site in order to view an image. Using a short yet attractive picture or video can make any blog post stand out from the crowd and increase click-through rates.

8. Publish your blog

Finally, let me warn you — publishing is tough. You have to make your content shareable and readable on each platform you wish to publish it on. Unfortunately though… there isn’t just one way to publish. You can either publish publicly via your email newsletter (blog post), blog homepage (blog entry) or your Twitter account. But we will talk about only the last method in another feature.
